Care to Share (formerly known as Operation Taste of Home) is Chesapeake Bay’s Fall Product Program donation opportunity, which allows those less fortunate and military organizations to receive a gift of a nut item/magazine.
About Care to Share
Girls collect donations in $10.00 increments, then Girl Scouts of the Chesapeake Bay delivers nut/candy products to local charities and/or food banks at the end of the program season. Girls do not deliver donated products. Each donation is credited to the girl’s sales and the troop still receives proceeds for each donation sold.
Tips for Selling Donations
Ask! It’s that easy. Most customers don’t know what Care to Share is, so we suggest a display poster or flyer.
If you can’t eat ’em, treat ’em! For various reasons (including health reasons), some customers may opt out of eating nuts/candy. Promote donation sales by making your own drop box for donations.
Say Thank You! Share the Care to Share Donation Receipt with any customer who chooses to make a donation.
GSCB does not have the capability to request where products donated to C2S are sent when donated to military organizations.
